This initial Fitness Assessment includes a series of fitness tests that help determine your current fitness level and provides a baseline with which to chart your progress. The assessment covers all the components of fitness, including: body composition, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and muscular strength and endurance. You should plan on spending at least 30 minutes to an hour to complete your fitness assessment.
Goal Setting
One of the first things we like you to do when join PRO Fitness is let one of our FIT PROS assist you in setting your fitness goals. The first step to starting a healthier lifestyle is to set and write down what you want to achieve. Why is this so important? Your goals give you something concrete to aim for—they set your intention. If your focus is on achieving certain goals, and your actions correspond to them, you will achieve those goals. What you place your focus upon, you will achieve.
Before Your Assessment
Make sure to get plenty of rest the night before. If coming to us from work, pack your gym clothes the night before. Wear loose fitting clothes (jogging attire, shorts, training shoes, etc.) Avoid alcohol, tobacco, and coffee for at least 3 hours before your assessment. Make sure you eat something solid about two hours before your appointment. Avoid exercising on the same day, prior to your assessment. Exercise will elevate your blood pressure and resting heart rate - invalidating these measures. Please inform assessor if you are suffering from any acute respiratory infection or related condition.
During Your Assessment
During Your Fitness Assessment - the assessment is designed so that we can learn about your body’s strength and weaknesses by performing a series of evaluations. If at any time you feel faint, nauseous, sick, or dizzy, tell your trainer. We will immediately stop whatever we are doing with you. Your health and wellbeing is our primary concern! The objective of your first assessment is to give you a baseline from which to measure your performance. Subsequent assessments will provide milestones to help you evaluate your progress.
PRO Fitness Age
PRO Fitness Age is a fitness assessment program that inspires and motivates results oriented change. PRO Fitness Age provides a fun, user friendly and easy to understand fitness assessment experience. A 42 year old can have a PRO Fitness Age of 64 or 24, depending on how well they have looked after themselves. For example, if this 42 year old had neglected their health and fitness and their PRO Fitness Age is 64, this means they are performing at the same level as the average 64 year old. On the flip side, a fitness buff who is 56, through his daily workouts, maintain the physical condition of an average 29 year old.
